For the first 3 weeks of October, myself and nine amazing authors have pooled our creative resources into a promotional event to support the tradition originated by Neil Gaiman of giving a book or a scary story away each Halloween. You can read more about All Hallow’s Read here.
Our goal is to raise 1000 books to donate to Books for America, a wonderful charity and an official sponsor of All Hallow’s Read. In 2011, Books for America donated more than $800,000 worth of books and materials to DC area schools, shelters and dozens of other educational programs and organizations.
Visit the Fiction Frolic for All Hallow’s Read site for all the thrills on our participating authors, prizes and gifts, and some great scary stuff, as we celebrate this new holiday tradition (and help a charitable cause we can all get behind in the bargain).
